essential oils uses, What is Aromatherapy, using essential oils, therapeutic-grade essential oils, body, mind and spirit, What is aromatherapy? I get asked that question a lot. Someone will ask me what I do for a living and when I tell them, they look at me like a deer caught in headlights.

The National Association of Holistic Aromatherapy – NAHA – answers this question beautifully:

Aromatherapy, also referred to as Essential Oil therapy, can be defined as the art and science of utilizing naturally extracted aromatic essences from plants to balance, harmonize and promote the health of body, mind and spirit.  It seeks to unify physiological, psychological and spiritual processes to enhance an individual’s innate healing process.

So, in a nutshell, as an aromatherapist, I offer plant-based guidance and tools to help your body, mind and spirit be as healthy as possible. Aromatherapy aims to address the fact that your body, mind and spirit are connected – not separate.

I don’t just look at the physical issues that you confidentially discuss with me. I also look at what’s going on emotionally as well.

Why?

Why Do Emotions Matter?

I am a firm believer that all physical maladies begin in the 6 inches between your ears. Yes – I know – smoking causes cancer, too much junk may cause diabetes, too much stress causes heart attacks, etc., etc., etc.

I get that.

What most people don’t get is that the underlying reasons why we smoke, eat junk and feel stressed out is based on emotions. I have learned an all too difficult lesson that my emotional reactions causes most of my pain on an emotional level which usually comes out in something physical – especially when I try to stifle those emotions. Emotions and Aromatherapy

Case in point – I’m really having a tough time with my left shoulder. It hurts; I can’t exercise and free movement is hampered. Shoulder pain is all about bearing a load that is too heavy and, for me personally, trying to do everything by myself. Yep – you guessed it – the emotional stress of trying to do everything alone is showing up as physical pain in my shoulder.

So what am I doing about it? Actually, I’m doing a lot.

First of all, some things that I thought were important had to go by the wayside. I have learned that I can’t do everything by myself and expect to get a good night’s rest. Nor can I go wide open day in and day out and expect to remain healthy.

Oh – and believe it or not, I forget to eat. Seriously. I get so wrapped up in what I’m doing that I don’t listen to my body rhythms. Simply sitting down at the table with clean healthy food makes a huge difference in my stress level.

Secondly – and I believe this is very important – I use pure essential oils to address my underlying emotional issues. I created a blend of essential oils that I diffuse in the air to assist in letting go of emotional baggage, to address old traumas, to shine a light on anger, and most of all, to calm and uplift my energy.*

How can I help you if I don’t help myself first? You can’t give someone a drink from an empty cup.

I love being an aromatherapist. It is fulfilling and speaks to my soul. Whenever a client comes back and tells me the blend I created really made a difference for their issue, it feeds my soul.

I want to show you how easily you can take control of your physical, mental and spiritual health, too.

How does Aromatherapy help?

It’s important that you know: I cannot heal you in any way, shape or form. What I can do as an aromatherapist is offer an amazing plant-based tool that triggers your body’s innate healing ability – whether it be physical, mental or spiritual.*

My approach to aromatherapy is to address the whole person – body, mind and spirit. I focus on areas where I know aromatherapy makes a difference:

My fee for a one-hour confidential consultation is $95 plus the cost of blends. The consultation fee covers researching any medications you take, what issues you want to address and the essential oils that can help you trigger your body’s innate healing abilities.

I can’t make any guarantees – neither can your doctor – but what I can do is offer you natural – holistic – tools to help you take charge of your own well being. I work mainly through Skype so you don’t even have to leave your home.

Not everyone has access to regular doctor’s visits, and aromatherapy offers a way to get out ahead of minor issues before they become full-blown medical concerns.

Take that first step today – call, email or fill out the contact form and let’s get started today.

As always, I send you my blessings!

Melissa
