Uninsured? It’s important to look to alternative health care along with natural remedies if you find that insurance is simply too costly.
It’s a touchy subject these days. If you have what’s considered to be a pre-existing condition, it’s bad news. Alternative medicine
Health insurance plans may become out-of-reach for many of us in the coming years. I’ve been uninsured for several years now and I’ve had to find alternative means of protecting my health because I don’t have regular access to a doctor.
Many health concerns will be classified as pre-existing conditions under the ACHA and here is a list of them in alphabetical order. Most likely, if you have any of these conditions, you can still get insurance, but it may cost so much that it becomes unaffordable or your condition will be excluded from coverage.
Insurance companies won’t have to cover certain basic services like hospitalization, mental health, pregnancy, prescription drugs, and disease prevention. You can see how quickly how things will get out of hand.
The hardest hit? Those who are starting a family, the middle-aged, seniors and those with pre-existing conditions.
If you face being uninsured, what I’d like to do is show you alternative tools that you can easily use to get ahead of minor concerns before they become full-blown emergencies. Don’t get me wrong – we NEED a way to visit the doctor and sometimes things happen like broken limbs, car accidents, pregnancy and many other serious situations that you cannot treat on your own – you MUST seek medical attention.
How Can Aromatherapy Help Me?
It’s in the less serious situations where aromatherapy can make a huge difference in your life. Pure essential oils can help you with:
- headaches and migraines
- chronic and occasional pain
- sinus and allergies
- eczema and psoriasis
- depression and anxiety
- menopause concerns
- digestive concerns
This really isn’t a comprehensive list but I mainly want to show you that you do have options. I have clients with many different concerns and, almost always, aromatherapy can help you feel better and stay healthy.
Earlier this year, I caught a cold and at first, I thought it was a sinus issue. So I treated it with specific oils for sinus but it turns out that I actually had a head cold that became a chest cold with lots of congestion. I switched to essential oils that are specific for colds with mucous in the form of a personal inhaler and also made a blend to apply to my chest to help with the congestion. Using aromatherapy, I was able to stay ahead of the cold to keep it from becoming a major problem. Even if all you have on hand is tea tree essential oil, you’re ahead of the game.
The Value of Alternative Therapies
As an aromatherapist, I offer tools such as this to help you protect your precious health. I cannot cure, heal, fix or change you; I simply have effective tools to help you help yourself. Your body – if given the proper tools – does a marvelous job of healing itself.
Areas such as aromatherapy, homeopathy, acupuncture, reiki and reflexology are considered alternative medicine. It’s a shame, because these complementary therapies are excellent at any time for staying healthy. Simply visiting your local chiropractor can do wonders – when your spine is aligned, you are less apt to get sick.
I carefully researched and created several products to help you protect your health using plant-based ingredients which are MUCH kinder and gentler to your liver. Simply switching out a Headache-EZ roller ball for acetaminophen (also known as TylenolTM) can make a huge difference.
The Headache-EZ roller ball works in the same amount of time that it takes your body to process the aspirin or TylenolTM and it works for migraines, tension headaches and sinus headaches – wherever it hurts, simply apply it there.
If you live with eczema or psoriasis, you might already know about PsoMaxx which directly addresses the scales, dryness and itch of these issues. The ingredients are all plant-based and do not cause the brown patches that steroids do.
If you’re feeling uneasy or scared about the future of insurance, I’m in the same boat as you are. I’m on a mission to help you take charge of your well-being by educating you on tools that you can easily implement to help everyday issues before they become a crisis. Staying healthy really begins with self-care – it begins with YOU!
