Looks like the dog days of summer are here early this year.

Too hot for you? Cool off with essential oils – seriously! The amazing thing about pure essential oils is that they exact true physiological changes. What does that mean?

It means that using pure essential oils instead of fragrance oils actually does something real to your system vs. just smelling nice. Although, you have no idea what chemicals are in fragrance oils, so they really aren’t nice!

Which Oils Are Cooling?

I was hoping you’d ask that. :) I carry all of these oils in my shop in Winston-Salem. Here’s a few of my favorites:

• Peppermint (Mentha x peperita) is clean and sharply fresh.
• Bergamot (Citrus bergamia) is citrus-y and uplifting.
• Geranium (Pelargonum graveolens) has a rosy scent.
• Rosemary (Rosemarinus officinalis) has a minty scent with green undertones.
• Sweet Orange (Citrus sinensis) is bright and sparkling.
• Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus globulus) is fresh and penetrating.

The really nice thing about these oils are that they can lift your energy on a hot day or when you’ve had a stressful day and need your sagging spirits revitalized.

An easy and quick way to cool off is to spray any one of the oils on the front and back of your neck. You can get a travel size spray bottle wherever you purchase toiletries. For a 3 oz spray bottle, add up to 15 drops of essential oils with filtered water, shake well and spray away! Please use this spray within 2 weeks.

If your space is feeling a bit stuff, you can diffuse any of these oils for a fresh clean scent. The menthol in Peppermint is especially nice in a stuffy room.

Cooling Synergy Blends

Some folks are simply hot natured and need to cool off no matter what the weather, so I have several blends that are always in stock.

Flares n’ Flashes Hot Flash Spray takes the whammy out of those come-outta-nowhere hot flashes!

Cool Citrus Synergy Blend smells delicious and you can add a few drops of this blend to your diffuser or to your spray bottle.
