stress management, aromatherapy for anxiety,

It’s been well documented about the disproportionate burden around daily life that women bear especially since life looks so different over the last year or so. And we’ve all heard about self care and work/life balance – all exceptionally important right now but very hard to make happen. When it comes to stress management for women, I want you to know that you’re not in this alone.

I do a fair amount of networking – gotta love zoom – and I meet some interesting people in my virtual travels. One of the most interesting people I’ve met is Dr. Melissa Balizan of the Colorado Wife.

Dr. Melissa is a pharmacist, founder and CEO of Colorado Wife Consulting. She focuses on women’s health, especially stress management and works to improve anxiety, depression, pain, and chronic health conditions.

We’ve all heard the horror stories of women (including me) who visit a doctor for an illness only to be told “you’re fine” or “it’s all in your head”. It’s frustrating and humiliating not to mention you leave the doctor’s office with no answers or hope.

That’s where Dr. Melissa comes in.

She’s an advocate for her clients as a health and medical consultant with over 20 years experience in the healthcare field. She uses her pharmaceutical training and knowledge of medications, supplements, nutrition, physical and mental health to guide her clients on their health journey and help them make informed decisions about their health and life goals.

We got together a few weeks ago to interview each other for our respective websites. I’ll post her interview with me at a later date, but I wanted you to get acquainted with Dr. Melissa as she works with (mainly) women all around the country to help us navigate our healthcare journey.

If there’s anything we need right now, it’s a healthcare advocate!

What I really appreciate about Dr. Melissa is that (like me) she doesn’t just tell you to “take time for yourself” or simply “meditate“. She dives deep and first asks for a list of your supplements and medications to ensure that they’re working together and not causing secondary issues such as depression.

Yes, supplements and medications (and aromatherapy) can help each other or work against each other. You and I both know that your doctor or pharmacist doesn’t have the time to check your medication and supplement profile like Dr. Melissa does.

We both believe in taking time to ask questions and find out what’s really going on in your healthcare journey. And yes, Dr. Melissa believes in the power of aromatherapy as a tool to help you along your healthcare journey.

Dr. Melissa Balizan works via Zoom and email and is happy to help you navigate the health care maze! You can book your consultation on her website:

and here is her contact information:

She works mainly via Zoom and email, so if you’d like to talk on the phone to her, please text first: (719) 250-5389

I love talking with her and sharing information together and I also love how Dr. Melissa believes in the power of aromatherapy for your good health!

Happy New Year and many blessings to you and yours!
