practical wellness,

It’s that time of the year again – The flu season has begun all while our other adventure is still in full swing.

Now is a good time to take a look at some practical wellness tips that not only are easy, but help you get, be and stay as healthy as possible. It’s not necessary to spend a lot of money or time to take care of your health. It just takes the tiniest bit of effort.

And, of course, the holiday season is just around the corner and that adds stress – and we’re already stressed!!

Practical Wellness

What does practical wellness mean to you? For me, it’s the little things that I do on a consistent basis to keep my body, mind and spirit in balance.

It’s not huge difficult lifestyle changes. Many times, jumping off the cliff to make lifestyle changes (that you may not want to do) is setting you up for failure.

Since health is not a one-size-fits-all concept, pick and choose what works for YOU.

Here’s some little things that you can easily do every day to help yourself stay as healthy as possible:

  • Wash your hands more often. I feel kinda stupid even saying this, but I think we get so busy that we forget to wash our hands more often, especially during flu season. There’s scientific proof that washing your hands with plain soap and water helps keep sickness at bay.
  • Protect your immune health. My great grandmother was the “family doctor” and she fed us elderberry syrup whenever we were at her house (which was often). I’m a huge fan of using natural means to protect your immune system and that also includes using pure essential oils which I’ll talk more about in a moment.
  • Watch your sleep hygiene. Sleep is the elixir of life. And yes, you need sleep. Your body (and mind) suffer when you don’t get enough sleep. And quality sleep actually helps your immune system function more productively.
  • Move your body.* Those of us who sit all day staring at a computer need to pay attention. I’m not a real fan of exercise, but I know moving my body for a few minutes every day makes me feel better and helps my immune system. Even if all you do is stretch for 5 minutes first thing in the morning, you’ve helped your health immeasurably. Exercise also reduces stress and stress is really hard on your immunity.
  • Increase your water intake. I didn’t say drink an extra gallon of water! Can you get one extra bottle of water every day? Drinking pure water helps to flush toxins out of your system. When your body has that extra help detoxifying, it runs smoother freeing up energy for your immune system to perk along. Thievery Rollerball for Immune Support, thieves, natural immune boost
  • Use pure essential oils.* Using a blend of pure essential oils of Clove, Cinnamon, Eucalyptus, Lemon, Lavender and Tea Tree can give your immune system the boost it needs to help keep you healthy*. Don’t have all those oils? Use Thievery Synergy Blend for your immune health.
  • Manage your stress level. Stress is a part of adulting, but managing it helps your immune system and your inflammation levels. If you can only do one thing to manage your stress level, simply take a big deep breath through your nose and slowly exhale through your mouth. It’s very calming and helps you access the pure oxygen in the bottom of your lungs which in turn calms your central nervous system. Along with that, using Anxiety Ease Synergy Blend can help you feel calmer especially during the busy holiday season.

Pick and choose what works for you. Doing any three of these practical wellness activities will have a profound effect on your health in body, mind and spirit.
