Why Is Elderberry So Good For You, antioxidant, natural flu remedy, natural cold remedy, heart health

I’ve been singing the praises of Elderberry Extract for several years now. Part of traditional medicine, elderberry is good for you.

Why? Let’s find out.

Why Is Elderberry So Good For You?

Elderberry is one of the most commonly used medicinal plants in the world. Long used in traditional medicine (when we were all healthier!), they help your whole body when they’re properly prepared.

Elderberries are chocked full of antioxidants. Why does that matter? The antioxidant properties stimulate the immune system. With all the “junk” floating in the air these days, having a healthy immune system makes more sense than trying to play catch up once you’re sick. (1)

It’s good for your heart health. Taking Elderberry Extract or juice every day may reduce the level of fat in the blood and decrease cholesterol. Not only that, but it may reduce levels of uric acid in the blood. Elevated uric acid is linked to increased blood pressure and negative effects on heart health. (2)

They’re also full of vitamin C. Vitamin C is a powerful water-soluble natural antioxidant which works against the viral flu. It also helps boost immunity, healing of wounds, fight against cancers and it’s required by your body for the repair of tissues and cartilage. Whatever your body doesn’t need is thrown off during urination.

Vitamin C is essential during cold and flu season!

Elderberry extract is a great source of vitamin A which is an essential nutrient required for maintaining healthy mucous membranes and skin and is required for good eye health.

It’s also known to be an excellent anti-inflammatory. Chronic inflammation can be damaging to your body and is connected with diseases such as cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and arthritis. (3)

Your Health and Elderberry

Long time community members know I’m not a fan of western medicine.

I just don’t believe that toxic pills are the answer to good health. It just makes more sense to keep your immune system perking along instead of having to heal not only from illness, but the medicine meant to “heal” the illness.

I take a tablespoon of Elderberry Extract every night before I go to bed. It has a tart taste and if you aren’t crazy about that, then Elderberry Wellness Syrup contains honey, ginger and cinnamon and has a sweeter taste. They’re both effective, it simply depends upon your personal taste.

By no means have I touched on all the benefits of Elderberry. There’s research going on right now regarding its anti-viral and anti-cancer properties – this is great news and the research is promising.

In the meantime, take your elderberry extract every single day.
