Stressed Out Santa

Yeesh – the holiday season can feel like a whirlwind of excitement, family gatherings, shopping sprees, and never-ending to-do lists. For many, it’s the most wonderful time of the year—but also one of the most stressful.

While the holidays are meant to be a time of joy and togetherness, it’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle, leaving little time to nurture your own well-being.

Even at this crazy time, I believe that taking care of your mind, body, and spirit is essential because the new year is coming and you don’t want to be exhausted right out of the gate!

Let me help you chill (and stop stressing over Santa) with some gentle, holistic practices to help you navigate the holiday season with peace and calm. Whether it’s through the soothing power of aromatherapy, the healing energy of Reiki, or the relaxing touch of a detox foot spa, there’s a little something here to support you.

Aromatherapy: The Power of Essential Oils to Calm Your Mind

There’s a really good reason I keep recommending aromatherapy (and a few basic oils) because it’s a wonderful tool to help you feel more centered and balanced, especially during chaotic times like the holidays. Certain essential oils can help relieve stress, promote relaxation, and even uplift your mood.

  • Lavender:
One of the most popular and versatile oils for relaxation, lavender helps to reduce anxiety and promote restful sleep. Diffusing it in your home or applying a few drops to your pillow can help you unwind after a busy day. If lavender doesn’t do it for you, let me know because I have a bunch of other oils!
  • Peppermint:
A great choice if you need to refresh your energy levels or if you’re feeling mentally drained. Peppermint oil can help with mental clarity and boost your mood when you’re feeling overwhelmed.
  • Frankincense:
Known for its grounding properties, frankincense can help you stay present, calm, and peaceful. It’s a great choice for moments when you feel scattered or like your mind is racing.
  • Bergamot:
This oil has such an uplifting and vibrant scent! Just when you think you can’t do any more, Bergamot lifts your sagging spirits and is especially helpful if you deal with the holiday blues.

To easily incorporate aromatherapy into your holidays, try diffusing these oils in your home, adding a few drops to a warm bath, or even using a personal aromatherapy inhaler for on-the-go relief.

Energy Calming Sessions (Reiki): Energy Healing for Deep Relaxation

The holidays can sometimes leave us feeling energetically drained or emotionally exhausted. Energy calming sessions (Reiki) helps you recharge your “batteries” by clearing out any negative or stagnant energy, leaving you feeling more centered and rejuvenated.

At Scented Balance Healing Arts, my  Reiki sessions help reduce stress, improve sleep, and restore balance to your body and mind. If you’re feeling anxious or overwhelmed, consider booking a session to receive this deeply relaxing energy healing.

Reiki can also be used in a self-care routine. Try a simple self-Reiki practice by placing your hands over your heart or solar plexus and focusing on your breath. Allow yourself to connect with your inner calm, even for just a few minutes each day.

Detox Foot Spa: Relax and Unwind from the Feet Up

You might be surprised to learn that your feet can be a powerful source of relaxation. The Ionizing Detox Foot Spa is an indulgent yet highly effective way to relieve stress and reset your body during the holiday season.

If you’ve been indulging in too many sugary drinks and desserts, the Detox Foot Spa is perfect for purging the excess yeast and inflammation from all the indulging.

A detox foot bath uses warm water infused with sea salt to draw out toxins, improve circulation, and restore your body’s natural balance. The process can be incredibly soothing for your feet, which often bear the brunt of the stress we carry during the holidays. If you’ve been running around  shopping or standing at family gatherings, a detox foot spa can provide much-needed relief.

Saying No: Honor Your Body’s Need for Rest

Powerful Act of Defiance is Just Saying NoOne of the most important tips for managing holiday stress is to remember that it’s okay to say no. Whether it’s a family gathering, a work party, or an extra project you’ve agreed to take on, don’t be afraid to acknowledge when you’re feeling overwhelmed or just don’t have the energy to commit.

We often put pressure on ourselves to be everywhere, do everything, and please everyone all at once. But the reality is, when we overcommit ourselves, we risk burnout. You deserve to enjoy the holidays, not just survive them.

If you feel like you need a break or simply don’t want to participate in a certain event, it’s okay to say no. It doesn’t make you any less of a friend, family member, or colleague—it makes you someone who values their health and well-being. When you honor your own boundaries, you’ll be in a better place to show up for others in a way that feels authentic and sustainable.

I get that some folks will do their best to push through your boundaries and make you feel bad about it! Need some help with this? Call me, I can help you!
