Are You Well Adjusted, chiropractic care, spine alignment

Are you well adjusted? Loaded question, eh?

A well adjusted spine is what I’m talking about today. Why do you need a well adjusted spine? The biggest reason is that that when your spine is adjusted properly and no nerves are pressing on your vertebrae incorrectly, you tend to be a healthier person.

Notice I said you tend to be a healthier person. You know I can’t make any guarantees!

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Maureen Work at Bodycare Chiropractic for about 15 years. She’s helped to keep me adjusted and healthy, especially when I didn’t have any other form of heath care.

What is Chiropractic?

The chiropractic adjustment method that I’m most familiar with is spinal manipulation but that’s not all of it. The National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health says this:

“Chiropractic is a licensed health care profession that emphasizes the body’s ability to heal itself. Treatment typically involves manual therapy, often including spinal manipulation. Other forms of treatment, such as exercise and nutritional counseling, may be used as well.”

The purpose of the manipulations is to improve joint motion and function. But what I really appreciate here is the belief in the body’s ability to heal itself.

If you’ve come to my aromatherapy shop or met me at an event, you know I always say that I cannot heal you – only YOU can heal you. I simply have aromatherapy tools to help you help yourself.

And it’s the same thing with chiropractic – or any other form of healthcare for that matter. It’s just a matter of having the right tools to help you help your body find its balance.

I wanted to share more of the options that Dr. Work offers in her Clemmons, North Carolina wellness clinic, so we chatted on zoom this past week.

One area that we talked about in particular is chronic pain. Whether it’s low back pain, arthritis, plantar fasciitis or any other pain, there’s always inflammation and yes, it affects every part of your body.

Along with the manual adjustments, Dr. Work also offers cold laser therapy that’s particularly effective for low back pain (we see you sitting at your desk all day long).

What I want you to take away from this zoom chat is the opportunity to ease your pain – whether it’s through aromatherapy or chiropractic – with non-invasive tools. If you’re enduring chronic pain of any sort, you know the dangers of opioids and toxic pills that not only are addictive but really don’t work to heal the problem, only to mask it.

Wouldn’t you rather help your body heal itself?
