Lately, it seems like the collective stress level has exploded.

I know I feel it. A number of friends and clients have recently talked about their stress levels and feeling like their nervous system is on overload. Does it feel that way to you?

How are you managing your chronic stress?

Signs of Chronic Stress

Because aromatherapy is ideal to help with chronic stress and anxiety, I talk about it quite a bit. Of course, there are major physical signs of stress such as trouble sleeping, irritability and comfort eating/drinking, but there are some other signs that you might not think about.

  • It’s only April and you’re dealing with your third head cold this year.
  • You notice that your shoulders are in a constant “shrug” position. (That’s really HARD on the tendons and ligaments in your shoulders!)
  • You get fidgety when you sit down and try to relax for a few minutes.
  • Little insignificant things are making you bonkers such as that pile of papers on the end table next to the sofa. It didn’t bother you before, but now, staring the clutter makes you cranky.
  • Heartburn has never been an issue, but lately, your esophagus is on fire.

A lot of these things creep up on you. You haven’t noticed any real differences…until it was brought to your attention.

Managing Your Chronic Stress

All along, it’s been my mission to bring complementary and alternative options for your overall wellbeing. Because the less invasive and toxic the option is, the better you heal from what ails you.

When I began learning Reiki (a Japanese technique for stress management), I was so fascinated because I could actually see the difference a session made for the client. Especially when combined with aromatherapy.

During a Reiki session, I work with your energy to help you de-stress. I also use grounding essential oils to help you relax and let go of what stresses you.

These two modalities combined together can soothe your chronic stress and calm your jangled nerves. Then, I use a bit of acupressure on your shoulders and toes (only with your permission) to help balance your meridians.

Your meridians are the pathways that your body uses for your energy to flow up and down. When a point along the meridian pathway is blocked, it creates stuck energy eventually resulting in issues such as headaches, stomachaches, sleeplessness or other physical maladies.

You don’t even need to be chronically stressed to benefit from a Reiki/aromatherapy session. A one hour session does wonders for you after a long week and because it helps you to “refill your tank.”
