How do you find your paradigm – or change it?
Once upon a time there was a little girl who wanted to be a writer. She didn’t think she could, so she didn’t. She wasn’t taught otherwise, so she went through life yearning to write but never having the confidence. Paradigm Shift
Want to know something? All you have to do to become a writer is write. Really. Sit down with a journal or a notebook or a computer and start writing what comes into your head. It’s that simple.
It doesn’t matter if your writing never sees the light of day. Maybe you want to write for the sheer pleasure of it. Maybe you want to write to become a famous novelist. Maybe you want to write a self-help book.
You have a story to tell and you know what? It’s a fabulous, compelling story, so why hide it?
If you’re waiting for someone’s blessing to come out of the blue – here it is:
Please start writing NOW – bless you.
Wasn’t that simple?
So-o-o-o, I took a leap of faith and did what I really wanted to do which was be a writer. I had something important to say and really wanted share my story of hard knocks, despair and triumph. Why? Because I knew I could help someone else going through the same kind of struggle to make positive changes that I did.
That desire became Find Your Paradigm: The Art of Living With Grace and Ease.
It was exhilarating, cathartic and exciting all rolled into one. I also wrote an inspirational journal to go with it to give you a head start on writing YOUR book. Since I’m a huge fan of coffee, I also printed coffee cups with “Leap Fearlessly” on them just to give you a bit of inspiration first thing in the morning to help you move forward.
If I could tell you anything, it would be that it doesn’t matter what anyone thinks of you. It doesn’t matter what people say about you. It’s YOUR life, YOUR journey and YOUR heart. No matter what you do, people are going to judge you based on the lens with which they see the world.
So, what I’m really telling you is that people are going to think and say what they want whether or not you take your personal leap of faith.
One of my favorite sayings is “Don’t judge my book by the chapter you walked in on.” I’ve learned this the hard way.
You have a story inside you just screaming to get out. Let me be the one to say put your pen to paper and don’t let your story – or your music – die inside you.
I’m proud of my book and journal. I’m even more proud of me that I had the courage and determination to put myself out there, take a risk and tell my story. To be honest, my hopes and dreams didn’t work out the way I had envisioned – but I still go back and read Find Your Paradigm: The Art of Living With Grace and Ease for inspiration. I use my journal every morning to write down my gratitude. (I won’t even go into how much I use my fabulous bistro coffee cup!)
I hope I’ve inspired you YOU to take your own leap of faith and write the story of a lifetime.
